The first part of the of the Strymon Brigadier-review was about the features of this digital delay pedal. This second part is dedicated to the sound of the Strymon Brigadier.
Th short mode, which is oriented to a one-chip delay, offers a beautiful slapback sound with at least up to 400ms. Maxed, the delay sound becomes somehow metallic – similar to an analog delay with an overclocked chip. The peak of the repeats is very realistic at the upper mids and cut very well through the mix. This is the first part of a detailed review about theStrymon Brigadier, a dbucket delay which emulates an analog delay is dedicated to the features of this digital delay pedal. The Brigadier comes around in a compact, green aluminum enclosure that is similar to the ones we know from the El Capistan, the DIG or the Flint. While these three are absolutely legendary, the Brigadier seems to be overlooked in a certain way. With justification? Continue reading “Review: Strymon Brigadier Part 1”
This is a video about a real time random sampling with the TC Electronic DITTO X4 and the Elektron Digitakt. The random reverse and pitch effects are triggered via midi by the Digitakt. Everything has been recorded via the Electron Digitakt into Ableton Live.
gear: Fender Telecaster, TC Electronic DITTO X4, Elektron Digitakt, Ableton Live
This is a comparison of the Moog Moogerfooger MF-104 with Eventide ROSE. To get close to the brightest setting of the Moogerfooger MF-104 I reduced the filter of the ROSE. You will also get a demo of a darker setting, slow and faster modulation and how both delay pedals may sound in the mix. For pitch shifting effects, I added an expression pedal to the ROSE delay. Regarding the Moogerfooger, I used a square waveform modulation to create the pitch shifting effects.
These are my favorite 7 settings of the Eventide ROSE delay. Find out how a maxed filter pot will create bright repeats (0:08) while a reduced filter will bring out almost analog-like sounds (0:43). An envelope controlled modulation will produce a tape-like feeling (1:27). And of course, I also used an expression pedal (3:00) for reverse delays with pitch shifting.
This is a comparison of the Empress Echosystem with the Eventide Rose. For the Rose is a mono pedal, I chose the single mode for the Echosystem. Find out more about different settings of these delay pedals and how both of them can sound in the mix.
