This is a demo of some special sounds of the Boss DD-8. Besides +RV and shimmer, I also present sonic options of the modes mod, warp and GLT.
There is an enormous number of nice delay pedals and there is one within everyone’s price range.
Regarding the budget area, you will also find a lot of good delay pedals, analog ones as well as tape emulations and digital delays.
In this three-part series, I would like to present some delays of all three sections that are available for ridiculous prices. Continue reading “Budget Delays Part III”
This is a demo about the Line6 DL4.
Most people love the DL4 because of its crazy looper. But don’t forget: it is also a delay…
So, check out some sounds of one of the first multi delays.

This is a video about a real time random sampling with the TC Electronic DITTO X4 and the Elektron Digitakt. The random reverse and pitch effects are triggered via midi by the Digitakt. Everything has been recorded via the Electron Digitakt into Ableton Live.
gear: Fender Telecaster, TC Electronic DITTO X4, Elektron Digitakt, Ableton Live
This is a video about how to use the TC Electronic DITTO X4 as a delay effect by connecting it to the Elektron Digitakt. Check out how to create different delay times like quarters, eighths and half notes. I also present a tape reverse as well as a tape stop effect. If you are interested in a step-by-step instruction, please let me know.

The Empress Superdelay, as well as the Superdelay VM (Vintage Modified) are both rather moderate pedalboard-friendly, but both versions of this delay offer almost every delay sound, a guitarist needs. Continue reading “Empress Superdelay / Superdelay VM”
This is a stereo comparison of the Empress Echosystem with the Source Audio Nemesis. Take a ride from digital, noise tape to reverse and Echoplex.
Please, use your headphones!

The Electro Harmonix Memory Man with Hazarai is much more than a delay pedal.
The rather less pedalboard friendly digital delay provides up to 3 seconds of maximum delay time. Continue reading “Electro Harmonix Memory Man with Hazarai”
This is a comparison of the Moog Moogerfooger MF-104 with Eventide ROSE.
To get close to the brightest setting of the Moogerfooger MF-104 I reduced the filter of the ROSE.
You will also get a demo of a darker setting, slow and faster modulation and how both delay pedals may sound in the mix. For pitch shifting effects, I added an expression pedal to the ROSE delay. Regarding the Moogerfooger, I used a square waveform modulation to create the pitch shifting effects.
0:09 bright setting Continue reading “Moog Moogerfooger MF-104 vs. Eventide ROSE”
This second part of the two-part review is about concrete functions like reverse and midi. And, of course, you will get my conclusion about this delightful delay pedal. Continue reading “Review: Eventide Rose – Part 2”
The Eventide Rose is a digital delay with some special features.
This first part of the two-part review is about the construction, the sound and the modulation of this delightful delay pedal. Continue reading “Review: Eventide Rose – Part 1”
This is a comparison of the Chase Bliss Audio THERMAE with Eventide ROSE.
To get close to the brightest setting of the THERMAE, I reduced the filter of the ROSE.
You will also get a demo of a darker setting, slow modulation and how both of delay pedals may sound in the mix. For pitch shifting effects, I added an expression pedal to the ROSE delay.

These are my favorite 7 settings of the Eventide ROSE delay.
Find out how a maxed filter pot will create bright repeats (0:08) while a reduced filter will bring out almost analog-like sounds (0:43). An envelope controlled modulation will produce a tape-like feeling (1:27).
And of course, I also used an expression pedal (3:00) for reverse delays with pitch shifting.
