\"7<\/a>Today, I am proud to present the \u201c7 questions to\u2026\u201d with the man who gives an analog heart to each of his brilliant digital pedals.
\nLearn more about Joel Korte, the man behind Chase Bliss Audio.<\/p>\n

1. So many famous musicians are using your devices – is there someone whom you wish he\/she would play one of your pedals?<\/h3>\n

Joel Korte: I have become a massive fan of Boards of Canada. That would be really special for me if I found out they used my pedals.<\/em><\/p>\n

2. If you would have to choose one single pedal or device, you will have to use for the rest of your life, which one would you choose?<\/h3>\n

Joel Korte: This might considered a \u201ccop out\u201d as it will be a Chase Bliss pedal (and it\u2019s not finished yet), but I think our Blooper pedal will be very versatile and inspiring, even on it\u2019s own. I think I would choose that one.<\/em><\/p>\n

3. Is there a pedal of another manufacturer of which you wish, you would have invented it?<\/h3>\n

Joel Korte: Yes the Empress Effects Zoia. I think it\u2019s absolutely brilliant<\/em>.<\/p>\n

4. What does your recent rig look like?<\/h3>\n

Joel Korte: A couple years ago I decided that I just wanted to use my own pedals in a live setting for a while to make sure that I was happy with how the line was rounding out. I certainly will stop this practice at some point (being that I love so many pedals that I do not make) but it\u2019s been a nice experiment. Right now my rig consists of a Brothers, Warped Vinyl HiFi, Wombtone, Thermae, and Dark World. I play an Ed O\u2019Brien signature strat into a Benson Chimera amplifier.<\/em><\/p>\n

5. Is there a question you are really sick and tired of?<\/h3>\n

Joel Korte: \u201cWhat\u2019s with the dip switches?\u201d I think people get a little too fixated on them. You certainly don\u2019t need to use them at all, and I think it needlessly scares some people off from the products. They just look at the dip switches and think \u201cthat\u2019s not for me.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

6. Looking back, is there anything you would have done differently?<\/h3>\n

Joel Korte: This is a great question, and it is so difficult to answer. There\u2019s a million little design decisions I would\u2019ve done differently, but I think I\u2019ve stayed pretty true to my vision when it comes to my core principles and approach.<\/em><\/p>\n

7. Which was your very first effect pedal?<\/h3>\n

Joel Korte: I *think* it was this multi-effects processor by ART called the Quadra FX. I hooked up a little midi controller to it so I could change effects on the fly. I mostly just made spaceship noises with it in my high school band.<\/em><\/p>\n
