But how did all this began? <!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>The first tremolo<\/h2>\n<p>Let us begin in the 1950th. Inside of this tube one can find two wires. If they are covered by the fluid they conduct the electric signal and you can hear the sound of the guitar. If they are uncovered the signal is interrupted. What theoretically sounds pretty complicated sounds really good in practice, because the modulation of the signal (literally) runs fluently.<\/p>\n<h2>Effects integrated into amplifiers<\/h2>\n<p>The next effects that have been invented, were integrated into amplifiers. The LED-technique is still used in numerous tremolos like the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fulltone.com\/products\/supa-trem-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fulltone SupaTrem<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.voodoolab.com\/tremolo.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">VoodooLab Tremolo<\/a>. The LED dims and lightens in a continuously interplay and produces an effect similar to the DeArmond tremolo.<\/p>\n<h2>The first delays<\/h2>\n<p>At the end of the 1950th there were already a volume-pedal (also created by DeArmond) and the primary tape-echo &#8211; the British, tube-driven <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vintagehofner.co.uk\/britamps\/watkins\/copicat.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WEM Copicat<\/a>. It has been inspired by the sound of two studio-tape-machines, running delayed. This first, and maybe most legendary tape-echo still is produced in a transistor-version. The most famous user of the WEM Copicat are <a href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Shadows\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the shadows<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Already mid 50th the first <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gilmourish.com\/?page_id=74\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Binson Echorec<\/a> has been produced in Italy. This delay used &#8211; in contrast to the tape-echo &#8211; a magnetized metal-plate to create the repeats. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pinkfloyd.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pink Floyd<\/a> used the Echorec in a lot of their records.<\/p>\n<p>The also legendary <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Echoplex\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Echoplex Tape Delay<\/a> has been introduced in the USA in 1959.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Les_Paul\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Les Paul<\/a> one of the most innovative guitar-players of those days &#8211; not only designed the prototype of the Gibson Les Paul but also created the primary delay- and flanger-sound in a studio by using tape-machines.<\/p>\n<p>This was a rough summary of the development of the 1950th pedals.
