Especially for delays it seems that the Golden age has come. There have been some interesting innovations for both, the analog (because of the reissue of the MN2005-chip) and the digital delays.

Chase Bliss Audio Tonal Recall RKM

Quelle: chaseblissaudio.com

The analog Tonal Recall by Chase Bliss Audio with a digital control came out last year. The RKM-version (red knob mod) is an improved version of the first one. The maximum delaytime has been doubled up to 1,2 seconds.

Because of this mod even the shorter delaytimes become much clearer, so the purchase may be quite interesting although you might think that you do not need such extended delaytimes. The RKM-version is a bit brighter but can be attenuated (just like the previous version) with the tone pot. The oscillation of the delay has been modified too. The repeats built up themselves more slowly before they become uncontrollable.

The first version of the Tonal Recall has got a more percussive attack. But it also puts a little more “dirt” into the sound. The RKM sounds more clean and clear. On the whole I think that the RMK is a felicitous update.

For Videos of the Chase Bliss Audio Tonal Recall RKM click here.

MXR Carbon Copy Deluxe

Quelle: jimdunlop.com

For some time past the MXR Carbon Copy was successful in the battle against more expensive boutique-delays.
