Similar to the other Maxon AD-pedals, the AD 999 as well is a less pedalboard-friendly analog delay.
The MC4107D bucket brigade ICs make the AD 999 sound a bit dirtier, less defined and a bit rougher than the AD 900.
The up to 900 ms maximum delay time of the true bypass pedal are quite nice and besides, you will also get wet/dry- outputs which make the AD 999 more versatile.
But you will search in vain for inputs for an expression- pedal or midi.
The same applies to tap tempo and modulation.
Today the 9V pedal is only available in used condition.
On my cult-factor scale, the Maxon AD 999 is a 6 of 10.
