Bedroom Level Amp
The sound of a tube amplifier pushed into saturation is unique. And although sometimes I play clean, my favorite amp-sound is never totally clean. I adjusted the amp in a way that it shows soft colorations and starts to compress when I dig in harder. This is the reason why so many prefer the supposed clean-sound of a tube amp instead of the sound of a transistor amplifier. Continue reading “Bedroom Level Amp”
+++ News: In cooperation with JHS Boss developed the JB-2 Angry Driver +++

40 years of company history and for the first time Boss developed a pedal in cooperation with another manufacturer. Recently Boss put the JB-2 Angry Driver on the market which has been implemented in collaboration with JHS.
This overdrive is based on the Boss BD-2 Blues Driver and the JHS Angry Charlie. So the JB-2 Angry Driver covers almost all kinds of sounds, from a boost over an overdrive to a distortion with marshall-sound. Downsizing
Although many guitarists love large pedalboards, most of them go into raptures over the sound that originates when the guitar-signal runs straight into the amplifier. The dynamic is increased and the guitar has got a higher output. Continue reading “Downsizing”

Effect history (Part 5): Retro boom of the 90s
In the 90s there was a recollection. Grunge killed the dreams of the hairspray-metal bands and thus, also of the effect-industry. For cost reasons and also as a commercially statement many guitarists bought second hand pedals and were satisfied with two or three of them. The previous polished sound became rougher. Continue reading “Effect history (Part 5): Retro boom of the 90s”

Fender Jaguar Mod: serial /parallel connected pickup modification
The Johnny Marr signature Fender Jaguar offers the possibility of using both pickups serial connected. This creates a special kind of sound which cannot be produced with the standard versions of the Fender Jaguar. But these standard versions are easily modified without the need of the installation of a new switcher.
This is the Fender Jaguar modification: Continue reading “Fender Jaguar Mod: serial /parallel connected pickup modification”
