Akai Headrush

This is a demo about the Akai Headrush.
Probably the only pedal that provides one separate output for each virtual tape head.
Although it almost seems like a silver-ager, it has extraordinary functions like the tape head spacing to create rhythmical delays.

MOOG Minifooger MF Drive RESONANCE MOD – ladder filter Demo video

This is a video about the Moog Minifooger MF Drive RESONANCE MOD – ladder filter which is now available in the DelayDude.de shop.

It is no secret anymore: The Moog MF Drive has a “Moog Ladder-Filter” inside. But regarding the resonance, the toggle switch of the standard circuit only allows to choose between two fixed settings. Continue reading “MOOG Minifooger MF Drive RESONANCE MOD – ladder filter Demo video”

Line6 DL4

This is a demo about the Line6 DL4.
Most people love the DL4 because of its crazy looper. But don’t forget: it is also a delay…
So, check out some sounds of one of the first multi delays.

0:09 tube echo Continue reading “Line6 DL4”

Hughes & Kettner Replex

This is a demo about the Hughes & Kettner Replex.
It is huge and heavy, but it glows in the dark and has a tube!
The production has been stopped, but still it is a great tape emulation.
Tube preamp, reverb pedal and a single and dual-head delay in one enclosure.
Nevermind the space it needs on your pedalboard…

0:09 dual head delay Continue reading “Hughes & Kettner Replex”

Neunaber Expanse vs. Source Audio Nemesis

This is a comparison of the Neunaber Expanse with the Source Audio Nemesis.
The Neuaber Expanse is quite more than a reverb. Thus, I compare different settings of both pedals like tape and digital. But also modes like scatter (Expanse) versus rhythmic (Nemesis) and echelon stock (Expanse) versus digital mode (Nemesis). Last but not least, you will get a demo of how both pedals sound in the mix.

0:10 tape Continue reading “Neunaber Expanse vs. Source Audio Nemesis”

Electro Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man vs. DOD Rubberneck

This is a comparison of the Electro Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man with the DOD Rubberneck.
Find out mor about the sonic possibilities like brighter and darker repeats, modulation and the sound of these two analog delays in the mix.

Neunaber Expanse as a delay

In this video, I used the Neunaber Expanse as a delay.
Most people use it as a reverb effect, but through the Neunaber App you can also download several delay algorithms. The additional EXP Controller allows to choose between up to four different presets.
For it is stereo, please use your headphones!

0:08 echelon scatter Continue reading “Neunaber Expanse as a delay”

Korg Kaosspad3 loops and the Elektron Digitakt midi sync

This is a video about how to use the Elektron Digitakt to midi sync start and stop loops of the Korg Kaoss Pad3 (KP3).

Gear:Elektron Digitakt, Korg Kaosspad3, Digitech SDRUM, DelayDude Midi Sync Cable

I show step by step how to record several loops on the Kaoss Pad3. The Digitakt starts the first loop of the KP3 via midi note #36, the second via midi note #37 and the third loop via midi note #38. Continue reading “Korg Kaosspad3 loops and the Elektron Digitakt midi sync”

Source Audio Nemesis vs. Erica Synths Zen Delay

This is a comparison of the Source Audio Nemesis with the Erica Synths Zen Delay.
For these two are digital stereo delays, please use your headphones.

Both delays do not have true bypass, I used a true bypass looper (Lehle Parallel) for the audio recording.

0:08 digital mode (Zen Delay)
digital mode (Nemesis) Continue reading “Source Audio Nemesis vs. Erica Synths Zen Delay”

Erica Synths Zen Delay vs. DOD Rubberneck

This is a comparison of the DOD Rubberneck with the Erica Synths Zen Delay
For both delays do not have true bypass, I used a true bypass looper (Lehle Parallel) for the audio recording.
The Zen Delay does not provide an analog mode. Via the filter settings, I formed an analog-like sound in the digital delay mode. And the Rubberneck is, what it is: a great dark and gritty analog delay.

0:09 band pass filter (Zen Delay)
tone at noon (Rubberneck) Continue reading “Erica Synths Zen Delay vs. DOD Rubberneck”

Fulltone Tube Tape Echo vs. Erica Synths Zen Delay

This is a comparison of the Fulltone Tube Tape Echo with the Erica Synths Zen Delay
For both delays do not have true bypass, I used a true bypass looper (Lehle Parallel) for the audio recording.
I would like to present some sonic options by using different modes and filters of the Erica Synths Zen Delay and varying speeds and a higher record level for tape saturation of the Fulltone Tube Tape Echo.

0:09 tape mode / band pass filter (Zen Delay)
low speed (Tube Tape Echo) Continue reading “Fulltone Tube Tape Echo vs. Erica Synths Zen Delay”

AnalogMan ARDX20 vs. Maxon AD-900 – Analog delay comparison

This is a comparison of the AnalogMan ARDX20 with the Maxon AD-900.
These both analog delays create a rather dark sound. They are about the same size, but for the AnalogMan ARDX20 comes along with the Amazeo, it will need a bit more space on the pedalboard. Therefore, you will additionally get tap tempo and modulation.
Sonically both delay pedals are based on the Ibanez AD-9.
For the Maxon AD-9 does not provide modulation, I forego showing this feature of the AnalogMan ARDX20. Find out more about the sound of different delay times and how both pedals may sound in the mix.

0:07 about 600ms delay time (max. delay time of the AD-900)
1:02 shorter delay time Continue reading “AnalogMan ARDX20 vs. Maxon AD-900 – Analog delay comparison”

How to use the TC Electronic DITTO X4 as a granular looper

This is a video about a real time random sampling with the TC Electronic DITTO X4 and the Elektron Digitakt. The random reverse and pitch effects are triggered via midi by the Digitakt. Everything has been recorded via the Electron Digitakt into Ableton Live.

gear: Fender Telecaster, TC Electronic DITTO X4, Elektron Digitakt, Ableton Live

I did not know that I can use the TC Electronic DITTO X4 as a ….

This is a video about how to use the TC Electronic DITTO X4 as a delay effect by connecting it to the Elektron Digitakt. Check out how to create different delay times like quarters, eighths and half notes. I also present a tape reverse as well as a tape stop effect. If you are interested in a step-by-step instruction, please let me know.

0:10 normal speed = quarter notes Continue reading “I did not know that I can use the TC Electronic DITTO X4 as a ….”
