Tape Emulation, analog and digital delay – how do they sound with an overdrive pedal (Paul Cochrane Timmy)?

This is a comparison of three different types of delays all accompanied by the Timmy.
For this demo I used a classic analog delay (Electro Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man), a tape echo emulation (Strymon Volante) and a digital delay (Empress Echosystem).
The Paul Cochrane Timmy is probably the best choice, if you are looking for a transparent overdrive. so, go ahead and find out, how it affects every single type of delay depending on the respective kind of playing (like dynamic playing, modulation, in the mix).

MXR Carbon Copy Deluxe vs. AnalogMan ARDX20 – Analog delay comparison

This is a comparison of the MXR Carbon Copy Deluxe with the AnalogMan ARDX20.
These both analog delays create a rather dark sound. By using the Amazeo, the ARDX20 provides tap tempo like the MXR Carbon Copy Deluxe. Find out more about the sound of different delay times, the modulation sound and how both pedals may sound in the mix.

Analog, digital and tape delay – how do they sound with an overdrive pedal (AnalogMan King of Tone)?

This is a comparison of three different types of delays all accompanied by the AnalogMan King of Tone.
For this demo I used a dark analog delay (DOD Rubberneck), a digital delay (Strymon DIG) and a tape delay(Fulltone Tube Tape Echo).
The first 25 seconds you can hear a sneak peak of each type of delay accompanied by the King of Tone.

Review: Wampler Faux Tape Echo

While the third version allows to adjust the subdivisions, the version 1.2, that will be presented in this review, provides the possibility to deactivate the modulation.

Ask the Dude: Is there a pedal sounding like the Binson Echorec?

“I think, I actually would need a Binson Echorec, but they are in fact beyond price. I love the flutter echo mash, that the Echorec is able to create.
In the meantime, I think, that an analog delay is able to produce every sound, I long for. Digital delays with analog emulation do not sound that nice to me. But at the same time, I don’t want to get into dept.
Could you tell me, if the Ibanez Echo Shifter might be a suitable pedal for me? Especially in contrast to the Ibanez analog delay, AD9, mini or even the EHX Memory Toy?
