The Maxon AD-80 is a pedalboard-friendly analog delay icon.
It has been one of the first of its kind and until today, it has always been an evergreen.
I guess, nobody is bothered by the short delay time of 300ms of this pink mono pedal. The sound compensates everything. Its secret is the high headroom that is created by the fact, that the AD-80 runs on 18V. The power can be supplied by a power supply or via 2 9V-batteries.
You will also forgive this analog legend that it lacks features like true bypass, modulation or tap tempo. Same applies to an input of an expression pedal or, during the days of its construction, unimaginable features like midi.
Today, the Maxon AD-80 is only available in used condition.
For I am a self-confessed AD-80 fan, this delay gets 9 of 10 points on my cult-factor-scale.
