The Maxon AD-900 is definitively not a pedalboard-friendly delay. But this analog wonder does not need to be space-saving. It offers up to 600ms of maximum delay time. At the time of its construction, an absolutely phenomenal duration. Nevertheless, the sound of the AD-900 is striking clean. To many, this delay is the embodiment of a warm and dark delay sound.
The colorful colossus comes around without frills like modulation, tap tempo, an expression pedal input or true bypass. And of course, this analog delay does not provide midi.
The Maxon AD-900 runs on 12V via power supply. In many cases, its reversed polarity proved to be the demise of this cutie.
For those who know my blog and my videos, it is no secret anymore, that I am a committed supporter of the Maxon AD-900.
Therefore, this legend which today is only available in used condition becomes a 9 of 10 on my cult-factor-scale.
